The ICRISAT seeks applications from Indian citizens for the post of Field Attendant in Genebank. The position is located at ICRISAT, Patancheru, Hyderabad.

1. Post Name: Field Attendant

2. Status Overview: This role is responsible for supporting activities under the DBT project of ‘Accelerating Genomics to Characterize Chikapia Germplasm Resources to Help Crop-Improvement’.

3. Essential Criteria:

a) Degree / Diploma in Agriculture / Plant Sciences is preferred.

B) Experience in germplasm evaluation for biotic / abiotic symptoms and DUS characterization symptoms is preferred.

C) Minimum 1-2 years of relevant experience in a similar field is desirable

D) Proficiency in using various software applications (MS Word, MS Excel)

E) Fluency in local language, and good communication skills in English

F) Labor management skills are preferred

G) Ability to work in digital devices for data collection

H) Candidate with valid driver license is preferred

i) Must be a good team player and adapt to work in multicultural team

4. Job Responsibilities:

A) Assisting the scientific staff in the evaluation of germplasm symptoms and chicks for agronomic symptoms, and for biotic and abiotic stress tolerance

B) Helps in the collection, isolation and maintenance of Gram pathogens

C) Assisting in greenhouse and field screening of gram against various pathogens

D) To conduct day to day activities in laboratory, greenhouse and field

E) Assistance in crop management, field workers monitoring and data collection

F) Contribute to other research work assigned by supervisor

General

There is a consolidated position for three (3) years, which is renewable based on the performance of the incumbent and is an ongoing requirement of the institution for this position.
